| Welcome |
The Unfamiliar is the working title for a
new OYE short film. The idea is to use the wonderfully creepy
service tunnels at CERN (not the accelerator tunnels) as a location for a
suspense/thriller short film.
The tunnel locations provide both advantages and challenges. The main
advantage is that it is independent of the weather and the light is completely
artificial, so we can shoot throughout the day without needing to consider the
changes in day light conditions. The main challenges will be shooting in a
confined area. Tracking shots of someone running present a particular
problem for the camera team!
The provisional planning is shown below. The target is to be ready to
shoot at the end of February or early March. At present it is foreseen that the shooting
will require two or three weekends, due to the complexity of the project. Nonetheless, the final film will
probably be no more than 5 minutes long.
